Through partnerships, the Franklin County Office of Justice Policy & Programs (OJPP) is implementing the SAFER (Stop Addiction For Everyone Resource) Station program, a First Responder Deflection program offering brief medical screening and direct linkage to substance use treatment for individuals actively using drugs and at risk for overdose in Franklin County. The SAFER multidisciplinary team works to redirect individuals using drugs away from jails or emergency departments and toward community-based treatment. Using a non-judgmental approach rooted in addiction science, SAFER stations is the gateway to treatment services when an individual reaches the Action Stage of Change.
Monday-Thursday: Dedicated to addiction and recovery needs, prioritizing individuals coming in to be screened and linked to treatment or in need of Naloxone and Fentanyl Test Strips.
Friday: Walk-in for individuals seeking identification document assistance (Ohio birth certificate, driver's license) and help with applying for Jobs and Family Services benefits. You can also make an appointment for other days of the week by calling 614-252-2112. A hot meal is provided on Fridays between 12-3PM.
