Community Follow-up on 4/18 Fire

On the morning of April 18, there was a truck fire involving lithium batteries in the Franklinton neighborhood (1600 block of McKinley Road near Grandview Avenue). Columbus Division of Fire responded to the scene and issued a precautionary evacuation. Residents in the area were advised to seek medical attention if they experienced difficulty breathing, which would have developed within 24 to 48 hours of exposure. Columbus Division of Fire monitored the air quality to ensure safety, and lifted the evacuation quickly. There is no risk to the community at this time.
