OSU: Stress, Trauma And Resilience (STAR) Program

The OSU STAR Trauma Recovery Center has two branches of operations that include
trauma focused outpatient mental health services to victims of crime and education.
STAR outpatient mental health program offers trauma-focused services to adult
survivors (18+) of crime-related trauma or abuse. We are funded by the federal
Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant, enabling us to provide services to our patients at
no cost. Currently, we cover mental health counseling (including both individual and
group treatment), patient advocacy, a monthly support group, and case
management. STAR trauma-focused education offers a free training program called
Community Brief Emotional Support Team (B.E.S.T.) Training. This program provides
community members and organizations with a safe space to engage in
compassionate conversations about recognizing and responding to trauma
effectively.

All services are free of charge and there are no income requirements. This is open to anyone in the Columbus area. Please call or email to refer yourself for services.
