As the administrative head of Franklin County government, the Board of Commissioners sets the strategic direction and fiscal priorities for the 30th largest county in the nation. Most importantly, the Board of Commissioners is the budget and appropriating authority for county government which includes all county agencies and elected officials (Sheriff, Auditor, Treasurer, Courts, etc.)
Franklinton Development Association (FDA) manages this community resource guide. FDA’s mission is to stabilize and positively impact our community through the lens of housing. We strengthen the Franklinton community through affordable housing, advocacy, and education. We are a non-profit, Community Development Corporation (CDC), Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) in Franklinton, Columbus, Ohio since 1993.
In June 2014, the Greater Columbus Infant Mortality Task Force ended its 6-month process with the release of its final report to the residents of Franklin County. In it were eight recommendations to reduce the community’s alarming infant mortality rate by 40 percent and cut the racial health disparity gap in half by 2020. CelebrateOne was created in November 2014 to carry out the Task Force’s recommendations and ensure Franklin County meets its ambitious goal. CelebrateOne believes that every baby deserves to celebrate his or her first birthday.
